@yassie_j tiktok evangelicals are convinced that theyre getting taken to heaven tomorrow or wednesday which in path to nowhere means the fall of the perishing star is soon which means keylan expedition in about 20 years and if i can become a member of that expedition and die in a really cool way under the illusory moon i get to be an immortal and after 90 years of being a cannibalistic monster i can hang out with chief
re: fedi interfaith dialogue@alienskyler@winter i think if Christâs resurrected body retaining wounds is any indication, i dont think that will be the case, but origenâs alleged belief that Jesus is a sphere now and we will all be spherical is easily the funniest anathema
i just also wish that it wasnt specifically declared anathema to anathematize origen
re: fedi interfaith dialogue@winter i mean its weird and convoluted and nonsensical but i think she sincerely struggles to believe that someone could want to be circumcised
re: fedi interfaith dialogue@alienskyler@winter yes this is correct. this is also a lot of why it bugs me bc i actually think retaining His wounds is cool
fedi interfaith dialogue@winter i think she cannot believe that someone would want to be circumcised and therefore it would have been a violation of bodily autonomy to not receive divine foreskin restoration. its a common thing among foreskin restoration people to view someone else wanting to be circumcized as undermining the legitimacy of them not wanting to be circumcised and therefore their own autonomy. its a common fear in those spaces that they might help someone restore their foreskin and then they decide the want to go get re-circumcised
@coolbean âif a bear is chasing you, its easy to check if its a black bear or a grizzly. just climb up a tree. if is climbs after you, its a black bear. if it destroys the tree, its a grizzlyâ
@amerika@apophis actually the fact that they can call themselves evangelicals in the first place indicates a level of hegemony. theyre not getting confused with the lutherans
@amerika@apophis tbh evangelicalism is just the american religion at this point. theres a reason they can get away with asking if youre christian or catholic. a lot of the catholics and orthodox christians are basically evangelicals at this point too. the soulless liberal mainline evangelicalism reacts to starts from a lot of the same assumptions with inverted value judgments. atheists are often reacting to evangelicalism again with similar assumptions.
@amerika@apophis then again perhaps i dont hate strength either. i just hate the strength of this world. i donât care for conquest or âmaintaining relevanceâ through it. i care for the strength that bears things for love and that always looks for restoration when the world is rigged towards death. the strength of Christ on the cross is what i look for and what i look to have.
physical strength is a neutral matter to me. it is very cool but it is something that fades with time as we age and die. to be attached to it would only bring suffering in the end. then again suffering isnt so bad is it?
