i think ultimately it comes down to how we understand God's authority. To me God's authority is the sheer transforming force of God's love and not the way that the authority of this world operates. to him the kind of authority an earthly king wields is the same as the kind that God wields

not accusing him of this, but i've noticed a tendency among many to see the crucifixion as a low point. almost an aberration on the way to greater glory
