i think ultimately it comes down to how we understand God's authority. To me God's authority is the sheer transforming force of God's love and not the way that the authority of this world operates. to him the kind of authority an earthly king wields is the same as the kind that God wields
not accusing him of this, but i've noticed a tendency among many to see the crucifixion as a low point. almost an aberration on the way to greater glory bc from an earthly perspective, it is but it is exactly bc it is so perverse to the world that makes it the height of God's glory to me
tbh the main reason i would never be catholic or orhtodox is that theyre way too high on their church magesterium and, shockingly, a queer person doesnt trust the church
its funny when i talk about ecclesiology with this one divinity school theology student. i go really hard on the Church being christ's mystical body and bride and he's like "the Church just provides sacraments" but he holds the Church in very high regard and i do not
