@kirby@raccoon@soop@FayeDrake it seems like that is not necessary tho . i dont know much about it and i also prefer a simpler message passing protocol , but still . shitting on ppl just trying to implement the thing in alternative ways is unhelpful
re: bluesky sucks ass and i'm tired of dealing with its proponents@raccoon@soop@FayeDrake yes bsky sucks !!! but we shouldnt yet talk shit abt ATP , thats all . alternative implementations are good
re: bluesky sucks ass and i'm tired of dealing with its proponents@raccoon@soop@FayeDrake guys i think jumping the gun on a protocol thats in its early stages of life might be counter productive . ppl working with atproto do so in order go get others off of bsky . the protocol itself can be used and is being implemented in very cool ways (see wafrn , a great hybrid implementation)
there js some merit to ATP design tgat AP just couldnt take into consideration . the separation of concerns between the pds relay and appview makes for some very interesting features that are just not possible with AP , like infallible "instance" transfers , selfhosting one s own account data, etc
